While recently interacting with Bayern Munich fans, Sadio Mane signed a Liverpool flag that was presented to him.

Sadio Mane was presented the Liverpool flag after getting off the bus carrying the Bayern players, as can be seen in a video posted on Twitter.

The former Liverpool player briefly appeared astonished at seeing the flag. However, that soon gave place to a broad smile as he grinned joyously as he signed the fabric.

A fan said “Nice to see. We miss you Sadio!

Mane’s response to being presented with something from his old squad is hardly a guarantee.

Raheem Sterling recently caused controversy when, while on tour with his new team Chelsea, he resisted signing a Manchester City jersey.

But it shouldn’t come as a surprise with someone like Mane. The 30-year-old is well known for his modesty and generosity. He showed respect for his former team instead of abandoning the fan.

Why shouldn’t he, then? Liverpool respected his decision to depart this summer and did not obstruct his transfer to Bayern.

The way legendary players depart clubs frequently tarnishes their reputation. Had they not gone under a cloud (or signed for Manchester United! ), players like Fernando Torres and Michael Owen would undoubtedly be remembered with the adoration their accomplishments on the field warrant.

It is true that Mane said a few dubious things in the press following his departure. Before the Champions League final, some pointless discussion occurred, and while traveling to Senegal, some strange remarks were made.

But he has generally shown admirable loyalty to the team that his career will always be most closely tied to. But he has generally shown admirable loyalty to the team that his career will always be most closely tied to.
