Students of UEW involved in an accident

(UEW) Three students of the University of Education in Winneba have been confirmed dead after they were involved in an accident on the Aperadi-Somanya range in the Eastern Region.

According to reports, the driver of the bus transporting students on an educational trip, lost control while descending Aprede Mountain.

The students were quickly rushed to the Yilo Krobo District Hospital in Somanya for treatment.

The Medical Superintendent of the Yilo Krobo District Hospital Dr. Jacqueline Mensah Darkwah confirmed the incident.

Following an accident on the Aperadi-Somanya stretch in the Eastern Region, three students from the University of Education in Winneba have been officially pronounced dead.

The bus driver reportedly lost control while descending Aprede Mountain while carrying children on an educational excursion, according to sources.

The Yilo Krobo District Hospital in Somanya was soon contacted to treat the students.

The incidence was confirmed by Dr. Jacqueline Mensah Darkwah, Medical Superintendent of the Yilo Krobo District Hospital.

She said, “28 others who sustained injuries are in stable conditions.”

Three persons have died after a school bus with University of Education, Winneba (UEW) written on it, carrying students veered off the road, running into a valley at Apirede in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.

The accident occurred on Friday September 9.

Other 28  persons sustained various degrees of life-threatening injuries. Some of them were sent to the Eastern Regional hospital.

Currently ,they are receiving care at the Yilo Krobo District Hospital.

The Hospital Administrator Belinda Kafui Mawutor, confirmed the incident.

The students were embarking on an educational tour to Mountain Afadjato in the Volta Region when the unfortunate incident at Apirede.

It is unclear which institution the students belong to, but the school bus had an inscription of the University of Education, Winneba on it.

Three people have perished after a school bus carrying students and bearing the name University of Education, Winneba (UEW) went off the road and crashed into a ravine at Apirede in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.

On September 9, a Friday, the incident took place.

28 additional people had injuries that could have been fatal in varying degrees. The Eastern Regional Hospital received some of them.

At the moment, the Yilo Krobo District Hospital is providing care for some of the injured.

The incidence was confirmed by Belinda Kafui Mawutor, the hospital administrator.

At the time of the sad tragedy at Apirede, the kids were starting a field trip to Mountain Afadjato in the Volta Region.

Although the school bus bore the inscription University of Education, Winneba on it.”I don’t know which institution these youngsters are from.
